On one of the days in Zurich, we took a trip north to see the Rhine Falls and the town of Schaffausen.

Our river cruise on the Rhine and Mosel began in Basel, Switzerland. Before sailing, we had a day to tour the town both as a group and on our own. One of the most interesting buildings was the Rathaus or City Hall.

Interesting eaves
Nice roof-top image - the wire is really not connected to the image, it only looks like it.
Spalentor gate in the old city wall
Modern building at the University of Basel
Not so modern building
Strasbourg, France provided lots of buildings (and churches) to look at. Wish we had had more time there!

Half-timbered house
I really liked this old place across from the Cathedral
Maison Kammerzell, a restaurant

Our next tour was called Alsatian Highlights and it took us to the quaint town of Riquewihr, France. The town might be accused of catering to tourists, but it was fun to look at all the old buildings and shops anyhow.
A squeeze job!
Different building facade in Speyer, Germany
Seen from the boat!
The town of Boppard, Germany provided some more interesting architecture.
