Uniworld's Eastern European Explorer

|
We embarked the River Countess in the afternoon (5/26), unpacked, and relaxed. The next day, instead of taking the Uniworld tour we set off on our own by subway for Schonbrunn Palace, the summer palace of Empress Maria Theresa. The entire trip cost us less than the price of one ticket for Uniworld's tour and we had as much time as we wanted - didn't have to race back to catch a bus. Beautiful day, beautiful place.

The River Countess, our home for our two-week cruise down the Danube. By the way, it is NOT blue, but rather typical muddy river brown. We have a nice room and nice facilities. The dining room, service, and four course meals were as excellent as any of our large cruise ships. We did not lose weight on this riverboat!
