In the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, we looked at the Soviet Army Monument and Eternal Flame. The monument is considered Soviet Socialist Art.

The walk through the park was pleasant and sunny with lots of young families out feeding pigeons, riding battery toy cars or scooters.

Eternal Flame commemorating the fallen in the Russian Civil War and the Great Patriotic War

These two young ladies are Park Rangers in Training - or something like that. They were trying to get us to move away from the site of the Eternal Flame - for some reason. They were cute, but somewhat unsuccessful.

We entered the Museum of Nomadic Folk Musical Instruments and saw more of the varieties of Dombyra, Kobyz and other instruments.

After lunch of salad (tomato, cucumber, and onion), chicken noodle soup, and lamb kebab, we rode the cable car up to the top of Sky Hill (Kok Tobe) for a panoramic view of Almaty. It was like an amusement park for kids at the top and had several souvenir shops.

At the top there was also a marker presented to Almaty by its sister city, Tucson! And there was a statue of the four Beatles!
