Thurs., 8/10/2017 – Tarangire National Park
We spent 9 hours game viewing in Tarangire National Park today. We saw lots of animals including 17 and 18 foot tall Maasai giraffes, zebra, and wildebeests. We learned that zebras and wildebeests often travel together for protection because zebras have keen eyesight and wildebeests have good hearing. Zebras will rest their heads on another zebra with each looking in opposite directions.

We had lunch at a picnic grove in the park along with about 40 other safari jeeps. Marge had started eating her “hamburger” when a black-faced Vervet monkey jumped out of a tree and tried to steal it. Witress chased them away but we were on the lookout after that. The picnic area was up on an escarpment above the river with a wonderful view of landscape and herds of animals.
