Trips

After the Buddha, we visited the Tashichho Dzong to see more art and monks. This Dzong is the seat of the head of Bhutan's civil government.

Road congestion of the way to the Takin Preserve

The last stop of the day was at the Bhutan Takin Preserve where, after hiking some distance along a fence line, we finally found a group of takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Legend says the takin (a strange looking animal) was created when a god put a goat head on a cow.  We also saw some Sambar deer, very pretty little things. We finally got back to the hotel at 4:45 – it was a long day filled with many different experiences.
